Calendar Sharing---- Shared:Edit Settings NOT WORKING PROPERLY

Calendar Sharing---- Shared:Edit Settings NOT WORKING PROPERLY - Users - How do I? | Google Groups:

"Ok I now I think I understand how this all works.

If you export from one Google calendar as I did using the 'Private
Address' ICAL address (basic.ics) file, then the resulting ics file
will have a CLASS:PRIVATE entry for all entries in the file.

If you export from the Google calendar using the 'Calendar Address'
ICAL address, AND the calendar is made public, then resulting ics file
will have all the entries with an entry CLASS:PUBLIC. [I did not test
with some manually set to Private in the Google calendar before
export]

If you export from the Google calendar using the 'Calendar Address'
ICAL address, AND the calendar is NOT made public, then the resulting
ics file will have lots of 'busy' entries and no real entries.

OK so here is what I did.

I have a Google calendar I want to keep with all the entries that I
want, but because in the past I imported them from another Google
calendar, all the entries in the Google Calendar are 'Private' and not
'Default' as I want. To get them all to be 'Default' I did:

1: Export to 'Private Address' ICAL file: I generated a basic.ics file
and placed it on the desktop. Then create"

Google Apps calendar broken when embedded

Google Apps calendar broken when embedded - Users - Troubleshooting | Google Groups:

"Hi all,

Let's break these two issues apart:

Google Calendar Gadget for your start page - we're aware of this issue
and still working on a fix. The current workaround is as follows:

1. Log in to your start page, then click on the 'Google Calendar' link
on the gadget. Your calendar should load.
2. Go back to your start page, then, refresh the page. The Calendar
gadget should now appear with appropriate links and options.

I'll pass your comments on to the team in order to escalate the
priority of our investigation.

Embedded Google Calendar - similarly to what DLW suggests, I suspect
this problem is related to privacy settings. If you're trying to embed
multiple calendars in one frame, you'll have to make them all public.
Alternatively, if you're trying to embed a private calendar, make sure
you're using the Private HTML Address.

For more info, please see our Help Center at
http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=82902

If my comments don't quite address what you're experiencing, please
post back with more details on how to reproduce the issue and the
browser you're using when this behavior occurs.

Cheers,
Becky"

So you have to click quick add and then type 'Server payment on the

that for some silly reason won't let you go over 14 days. I knew I was
missing something, I didn't realize an even could be created this way.
It still doesn't make any sense to me why you can't do it the normal

My calendar is gone! What happened and what can I do?

My calendar is gone! What happened and what can I do? - Users - Troubleshooting | Google Groups:

"Howdy everyone,

So, glancing at the Help Group threads, I often see a lot of reports
saying, “my calendar has vanished” or something similarly alarming and
understandably distressing. I’m hoping that I can throw out a few
scenarios to help confront these issues proactively and reduce the
amount of time you’re all waiting for an answer or assistance.

There are generally 4 different situations to explain the “my-calendar-
is-gone” woes:

1. The calendar in question still appears in your list of calendars
but is unchecked. Checking this box should display your events. If
checking the box has no effect and it’s your primary calendar (the one
at the top of the list) – go to #3 below.

2. If the events on your primary calendar aren’t displayed (even when
calendar box is checked), it’s possible that you or someone sharing
the calendar accidentally cleared the calendar. A primary calendar is
cleared of events by selecting the trashcan icon next to this calendar
in the Settings menu > Calendars tab. We can’t restore events on a
deleted primary calendar :(

3. You have multiple Google Accounts and you’re logged in to the wrong
one. Sign in with alternate email addresses to see if your events and
calendars appear.

4. An entire secondary calendar is missing from your list of calendars
in the Settings menu.

- Please contact us via email to resolve this issue further. While we
encourage posting in the Help Group when possible, some matters
require sharing email addresses and personal calendar names. To
contact us regarding deleted secondary calendars, go to
http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/request.py and select
"Get
help with a technical issue." Next, choose "Access & Loading
Issues"
and read through the info to reach a contact form.

In your email, you should include:
o The email address used to sign in to Google Calendar
o The name or names of any deleted secondary calendars
o A link to this thread

Renewal Problems

Renewal Problems - Fix A Problem | Google Groups:

"Hi Charlie,

This is a tough one. Here's a couple of things to try:

1) Go to the Google Checkout page: http://checkout.google.com/support
and login. Look at purchase History. You should see the Purchase
History. On the left had side of the page is 'Edit payment methods'.
Correct your payment information.

2) Click on View the canceled order. There is a link for Contact
Google Apps about this order. Fill out this form and submit it. There
may be a link that says Click here to retrieve your purchase. I don't know where
this goes. Perhaps you can resubmit. I received a server error.

3) After fixing all of this and sending in the contact information,
and if the issue has not been resolved go back to your GApps Control
Panel and login. Click on the domain names link. Make sure the Renew
automatically is still checked. If not, check it and save.

Hopefully this will lead you to a quick resolution. I know that if
someone forgets to check automatically renew that the process should
complete - probably as long as you are in the 30 day grace period.
There have been some problems so there is not a 100% statement but
it's suppose to work this way.

"Jake,

The following instructions assume that www.dfwfoodie.com goes to your
blog as desired.

There are some forwarding problems when the domain name is purchased
from Google. Remove the 3 A records pointing to Google servers: These
will typically have the following IP addresses in the record:
64.233.179.121, 66.249.81.121, and 72.14.207.121. Document these
records for possible future use. As of right now, we have seen that
you can safely remove these records and GApps will still work.

Add a Frame Redirect record with @ pointing to www.dfwfoodie.com.

"John,

What is your domain name? Sometimes it helps us to look at your dns
records. If email is now showing Active, your domain name should have
been verified. Setting the MX records are a third way to verify
ownership. Here's the full list of possible reasons for verification
problems. I know you've done some of these:

1) It can take up to 48 hours for dns changes to propagate to all
necessary servers.

2) An error was made in copying the unique string or in following the
instructions.

3) The domain name was purchased from Google so no verification is
needed.

4) Health of domain server. Keeps timing out?

6) Used one of these THREE methods of verification? Special CNAME,
special html file uploaded. MX records set to point to Google
servers.
http://www.google.com/support/a/bin/answer.py?answer=45694&topic=9196

7) Didn't realize that verification has been completed: see Active
next to most applications on Dashboard, e.g. calendar

8) Using 3rd party nameservers but making dns changes on domain host
servers

9) The domain has been forwarded and possibly masked.

Please connect to the Internet - Users - Troubleshooting | Google Groups:

"Thanks to mikefoley and his post with log I've got an idea to look
closer to where the problem is.
Obviously it is a connection to Google server.

Because I know I do not use any proxy the problem should be either in
Google Cal Synch settings (there is none user can edit about proxy) or
in some other settings.
And here we are, I had similar problem with Skype so I know that some
programs take their proxy settings from Internet Explorer and I know
as well that it does not work flawlessly.

So solution for me (Windows XP SP2 with IE 7) is to set in Internet
Explorer - Internet Options - LAN settings - Automatically detect
settings (check this box).
Then ok and ok back to IE main screen. Even if I uncheck that box
back, Google Sync now works smoothly until system restart. Then I have
to set go through it again.
I have not tried to let it checked yet.

Works for me. What about you, guys? ;-)"

Of course, you'll need to amend the link - and the words - to the ones

Note that if you go in and make a change to the event, you'll

google apps homepage

google apps homepage - Fix A Problem | Google Groups:

"Hello Joel,

You'll first want to change the custom url associated with www back to
the default value. Most likely the custom url for Web Pages is where
www is set. Login into the Control Panel, click on Web Pages then
change URL. If www is set there, click on the default radio button and
Save Changes.

Next change the CNAME of www so that it points to @ rather than
ghs.google.com.

Set up a Forward (GoDaddy - their Domain Control Page) or 'url
redirect' (eNom). You will be Forwarding http://mydomain.com to
http://sites.google.com/a/mydomain.com/sitename/Home. The easiest way
to see the right url is to log into the site of interest. After
completing this step, http://mydomain.com and http://www.mydomain.com
will both go to the page http://sites.google.com/a/mydomain.com/sitename/Home
and this url will show in the browser address window. By using
Masking (GoDaddy) or 'URL Frame' instead of 'url redirect', the url
will always show http://mydomain.com in the Browser address no matter
what page of the site you are viewing.

After making these changes, WAIT up to 48 hours for all necessary
servers to be updated world wide.

If this forward does not work and you end up going to the Start Page
instead, you will need to remove the 3 A records pointing to Google
servers (These will typically have the following IP addresses in the
record: 64.233.179.121, 66.249.81.121, and 72.14.207.121)

If you have GoDaddy and you purchased your domain name from Google,
add the following A record:@ pointing to 64.202.189.170 with a 1 hour
TTL.

Again WAIT for up to 48 hours.

Sharing multiple calendars with one URL

Sharing multiple calendars with one URL - Feature Requests and Miscellaneous | Google Groups:

"Here's what I came up with. This should answer both posters here.

1. In Calendar, generate the HTML to embed your calendars. Choose the
calendars and colors you want. I didn't fool with sizes or other
options.

- Should look something like this (for two calendars):

iframe src=" http://www.google.com/calendar/hosted/domainname.com/ embed?height=600&wkst=1&bgcolor= %23FFFFFF&src=domainname.com_###################### %40group.calendar.google.com&color= %235229A3&src=domainname.com_####################### %40group.calendar.google.com&color=%237A367A&ctz=America %2FNew_York" style=" border-width:0 " width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"

Note that domainname and ################# will be unique for you.

2. Copy this portion of the generated HTML for later use. (I suggest pasting it in notepad)

domainname.com_######################
%40group.calendar.google.com&color=%235229A3&src=domainname.com_#######################%40group.calendar.google.com&color=%237A367A

3. In your Sites page, insert a calendar gadget (any HTML address will do for now)
4. Edit the Sites page HTML. You should see something like this:

img
props="mode:month;showTabs:true;showTitle:true;showNav:true;showDate:true;height:
600;domain:domainname.com;pvttk:#######################"
origsrc="domainname.com_###############%40group.calendar.google.com"
type="calendar" id="############" style="display: block; text-align:
left;" src="/a/domainname.com/sitename/system/app/embed/icons/
calendar.gif"

5. locate the string: origsrc="domainname.com_###############%40group.calendar.google.com"
6. replace everything inside these quotation marks with the code copied earlier. Make sure to leave the quotation marks.
7. Save and the page should show all calendars with the colors you chose in the embeddable calendar wizard.

I'd love to hear if this works for others.

Adding appointments to multiple personal calenders - Users - How do I? | Google Groups

Adding appointments to multiple personal calenders - Users - How do I? | Google Groups: "Sounds like the workaround you're seeking would be to create multiple
resource calendars. Using the example of having a room and a projector
as resources, I would do the following:

1. Create a calendar for 'Room 1.'
2. Turn your 'Room 1' calendar into a resource calendar.
3. Create a calendar for 'Projector 1.'
4. Turn the 'Projector 1' calendar into a resource calendar.
5. Add other rooms, projectors, or shared spaces as individual
calendars.
6. Share the resource calendars with your co-workers or anyone else
who should have access.

Once you set these calendars to 'Auto-accept invitations that do not
conflict' you'll be able to invite them to events (as guests) using
the calendar's email addresses. This will effectively schedule these
resources for the time frame of your event.

For specific details about turning calendars into resource calendars,
please see my post at http://groups.google.com/group/google-calendar-help-howto/msg/ef54dc7...

Hopefully this helps you achieve the desired result.

Best,
Becky"

That's it. Click 'Edit Page' and then you can edit the text below. The
first line that you can edit IS the page name.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR DEFAULT CALENDAR - Users - How do I? | Google Groups

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR DEFAULT CALENDAR - Users - How do I? | Google Groups:

"I hope Google makes it possible to change your default calendar. I can
see how it might be difficult because the default calendar is the one
you started your account with, and it always the top one.

But there is a way to make another calendar the default. Here's how I
did it (in these steps, export and import are done following the
excellent Google help instructions):

FAMILY is my default; it's on top. PERSONAL is the one I want for my default, and it's further down.

1. Export both as iCal files to your computer.
2. On the Calendars Page, click the trash basket for FAMILY and delete
all items (scary, but it's OK :)
3. Then click the trash basket for PERSONAL and delete it entirely.
4. Rename FAMILY to PERSONAL
5. Create a new FAMILY calendar.
6. Import your FAMILY.ics file into the FAMILY calendar, and
PERSONAL,ics into your PERSONAL calendar.

DONE! Took me about 10 minutes because I didn't have these nice
instructions in front of me! PERSONAL is now on top and is your
default. FAMILY is down where PERSONAL was. Now you can do other stuff
like change the colors, notification rules, etc."
